Gordon Hazen has been teaching at Northwestern University since receiving his Ph.D. in 1980.  His primary focus is in decision analysis, particularly with applications in the medical field.  Gordon Hazen has experience consulting on ovarian cancer screening with genomics companies, and on vehicle health maintenance with Honeywell Aerospace. 
In addition to teaching and consulting, he has done extensive research in decision analysis and has served on multiple editorial boards.  He was honored to receive the Operations Research Meritorious Service Award in each of the years 1996-2003, as well as the 1998 Publication Award from the Decision Analysis Society of INFORMS.
